About Us

Buffie Main has been directing theater for nearly three decades and is known for bold, risk-taking theater that sparks conversation and creates community. Buffie believes that giving artists the space to be themselves and find joy is the pixie dust for creating meaningful theater. Buffie’s favorite directing credits include Indecent, The Cake, Rapture Blister Burn, In the Next Room OR the Vibrator Play, Love Person, and La Cage Aux Folles.

Buffie is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab in New York City, and Toronto, an elite group of international professional directors and scholars who study and create collaboratively worldwide. Buffie also holds a BFA in Theater from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and an MPA from the University of South Dakota. In 2020, Buffie was awarded the Alexa Rose Fellowship. Alexa Rose Fellows are nominated by their peers and are merit-based awards of $25,000 that provide resources for the accelerated development of an artist’s creative practice. Buffie’s joy is creating spaces where actors can be courageous, the work is fearless, and a play creates connection.

Kenna has been working with Alley Repertory Theater since 2008, first serving on the Board of Directors and then moving into her current position as the Patron Services/Operations Manager. Kenna fell in love with theater in 4th grade after watching The King and I. Since then, she has been actively involved in theater in some form or another for most of her life. In the 13 years she has been volunteering with Alley Repertory Theater, Kenna has witnessed the magic of theater (both on stage and off) and thoroughly enjoys experiencing every “wow” moment with each production. She is delighted to continue her work with Alley Rep and is excited to see what the future holds for this organization. Kenna shares this crazy journey called life with her husband, Ty and two dogs, Bogey and Birdie.

Jason is a playwright, screenwriter, novelist, and sports writer that has been with Alley in various capacities since 2011. He is the co-creator of the “Voices from the Boise Hole” series and “Levi Middlebrooks: Back 2 Boyzee”. Jason has also written four full-length plays entitled Solace, Poison, The Latitude of Life, and Half Past Midnight, all of which have had readings with various theatres. His one-act play One Night Stand was recently published for Heartland Plays and Jason’s fantasy novels, The Dragon Princess and The Blue Gem, have both been published, as his novella Of Snow Forts and Santa. Jason also likes to write for a couple of sports websites and wastes too much time watching sitcoms from the 1990s.

Hailing from the College of Idaho, where he studied acting and performed in plays such as Baby with the Bathwater, Lie of the Mind, The Winters’ Tale, Smash, and The Water Engine, he also worked in stage management, electrician, and set construction. he found Alley Rep during Indecent and helped backstage as a stagehand. He came to love the VAC and the people it held. After performing in Bernhardt/Hamlet he helped close out A Funny Thing Happened…much earlier than anyone anticipated due to the virus.

During the hiatus from theatre he’s worked with Alley to create a more diverse, equal, and inclusive environment, platform, and dialogue. He’s excited to share this larger, more loving space with some of you as audience members and collaborators and hopes that we all rise to the very challenging task of introspection, listening, discussion, and personal growth. A jack of many trades, a master of none: Writer, BLM activist, Actor, and Director.

With a deep, lifelong love of theater – Wendy has been active with Alley Rep since 2014, designing costumes, sound, and experiences to best support the moment. With a particular emphasis on large group shows, her costume work spans the comedy stylings of Sex, Weiners, and Boobs, to serious period shows like Farnsworth Invention and Indecent, to the large, boisterous cast of La Cage aux Folles and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. As a volunteer DJ at Radio Boise, hosting Tennis Court Disco for over ten years, she brings her audio skills occasionally to sound design shows with a need for musical storytelling. She also enjoys throwing great parties and raising money for important community projects. Senior User Experience Designer at Simplot by day, Alley Rep devotee by night – she can’t wait to be a part of the evolution of this dynamic and vital theater company.

Zoe has worked with Alley Repertory Theatre since 2016, when they ran lights for The Totalitarians and stage managed Disenchanted! Some of her favorite shows they’ve worked on include Bull in a China Shop, Women of a Certain Age, Indecent, the Royale, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Zoe has taken on various roles in Alley Rep shows, particularly as Prop Mistress. They are so glad to have found a community in Alley Rep.

Trever is a marketing & adventure enthusiast that has been working with Alley Rep since 2019. He is the energy behind a lot of Alley Rep’s marketing materials, graphic design, website development, and more. Having just immersed himself in the theatre world, he is growing a deep appreciation more & more with every show he attends. And he would like to make it very clear that the team, the talent, and the show productions at Alley Rep are truly the Cat’s Pajamas… the Bee’s Knees.

Andres is a Boise-based actor and theatre artist. He is an alumnus of The College of Idaho, graduating with a B.A. in Theatre, Class of ‘18. His credits at C of I include Florizel in The Winter’s Tale, Charles Lang in The Water Engine, and Sir Charles Brandon in SMASH. Andres debuted at Alley Repertory Theatre in 2019, playing The Ingenue/Sholem Asch in Indecent and followed up as Maurice in Bernhardt/Hamlet. Other credits include Eros (among others) in Antony and Cleopatra (Boise Bard Players), Yvan in ART (Alpine Playhouse) and The Wolf in Refuge (Campfire Theatre Festival). Andres has also worked as a sound technician for various productions around the Treasure Valley.

Andres considers Alley Repertory Theatre as his artistic home and has become involved with pushing and challenging Boise theatre to the level these times deserve through his work at Alley, on-stage and behind the scenes.

Breana has been working with Alley Repertory Theater since 2016 when she stage managed Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Since then, she has wrestled multiple Christmas extravaganzas to the stage, revised countless production calendars, and sent hundreds of cast emails beginning with, “Just a reminder…” This season she is proud to continue her work with Alley Repertory Theater as the company’s Chief Extravaganza Consultant. You might find her calling cues in the booth, writing dialogue for a production, or operating a spotlight.
