Alley Repertory Theater is pleased to introduce a new venture: Voices from the Alley, a platform to support unique and diverse theater makers in Boise. Voices From The Alley aims to curate dynamic cultural conversation to deeply tether and strengthen our community.
In partnership with Little Branch Company, a new theater company founded by Amela Karadza and Jovani Zambrano, Alley Repertory Theater brings you Honey Brown Eyes.
Bosnia 1992: In two kitchens, two soldiers recover a little of what they’ve lost during the war. A Serbian paramilitary soldier must face the consequences of his own brutality, while a Bosnian resistance fighter, crippled by the limits of his own courage, seeks refuge with a kindred soul.
The story of two young men, once friends, and the connection that will tie them forever; their love of music and the unimaginable horror of war.
“Zadravec is to be lauded for taking a faraway conflict and skillfully revealing its universal lessons.” –Huffington Post
“Playwright Stephanie Zadravec deploys a different kind of kitchen-sink drama, one that perceptively explores the psychologically crushing consequence of a war that, in Honey Brown Eyes, leaves two former friends on opposing sides.” –Time Out (New York)
